| 5. Written by Anon on January 4, 2012 from victoria, minnesota, US We bought a minivan from carhop in 2006. We chose to pay weekly on Saturday (after my check cleared the banks on Friday). The sway broke was broke, it needed alignment and about $900 worth of work.Something we found out only after having the car a couple weeks. Oh well, I figured that's what I got from buying a vehicle at a place like that anyway. We paid the down payment and started the weekly payments the very next week. Although that "1st payment" wasn't due until the next cycle. This way we would be ahead of the payment schedule in case something happened. The first 3 pymts when I brought them in on Saturdays I was told I had to "Leave the vehicle" by their "credit dept" by some of the most rudest people I have ever had to deal with. The sales rep rolled his eyes and said I could take it. (As our payments weren't EVEN DUE YET!!) He then explained that the payment was agreed upon on SATURDAYS, which "UAC" said No too, becuase it was a "weekend". Something happened because they stopped bugging us. After about 4 months, of weekly payments, they started harassing us again. If my payment was not in by 3:00 on FRIDAY, they would start to call the people we listed on our reference sheet. It was not late. Business day ends at 5:00. And according to the written & verbal agreement it was not due until Saturday. Yet our friends and family had to be harrassed by these people. After about 18 months of weekly payments, and having 6 payments left, I was out of town, I had the payment (Money orders, I would not give them my bank info)& explained I was out of town. Instead of driving twice in one week to drop off payment (Wed & then again Sat), I would drop both payments off on Saturday. The Sales rep (who accepted the payments agreed). However, I woke up around 3:00 AM on Friday night/Saturday Morning to find my van being reposessed. I ran out with both money orders and the guy said he could not accept them. I waited for them to open on Saturday & called. I was told the van had not been "processed yet" and had to call back mid next week. The sales rep said he did not order the repossession, UAC did. I called UAC and no one could help me. I called back on Monday, and was told they still had no info, call back in a couple days. I called Tuesday (I had 5 kids & needed my van NOW), nothing. I let Wednesday go & called on Thursday, again, no one knew anything. However, wait for it.............. THAT SAME THURSDAY I received a letter in the mail from them stating the van had been sold................ On MONDAY.... And I owed the remainder. After many fights and hang ups (on their part) And I told them that the law states I should have had the chance to make a lump sum payment to buy it back before it was sold to another party, they said all would be forgiven if I paid 1/3 pf what was left after the sale. Being a ***, not wanting a repo on my credit, I did. However, they are still reporting EVERY MONTH on my credit report it is a repo and I still owe. 3 years later. I have contacted the credit bureau, who said I had to deal with UAC. I have sent cerified letters to them, faxes and phone calls. I have been told they "can't do anything", "They have no record of me being a customer" and "They'll handle it". I have been told I can take them to court for it. But I do not have the time or the $$$ with now 6 kids to deal with them. It is the only bad thing on my credit. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They will continue to *** years after you think you have washed your hands with them. |

| 8. Written by cfkid on December 10, 2010 from hopkins, minnesota, US I wanted to stop and give everyone a update.. Well the UAC has not gotten any better when it comes to waiting for a few days when you are sick to make a payment but we all know how that goes. Earler this summer I did get a call from a man stating that he is working hard to sue car hop and anyone that has worked with car hop including UAC he has told me that he is looking for others to go with him on the law suite however he did say it may take some time because of getting everything ready.. I feel very sorry for anyone that works on these cars they tell the companies what they can fix and what they can not however sometimes they forget that they have no understanding about cars like what needs to be fixed in order to be safe.. I know that this company has been asked to leave other states come on MN lets get them out of here as well |
